It really does seem like spring is finally here. It is so nice to see flowers starting to bloom and the grass getting green. This time of year I am anxious to get out in my garden. One of my favorite, yet sometimes trying, garden plants is called the Mystery Lilly or Surprise Lilly. It starts out in spring with lots of long dark green leaves. Those die back and late summer a stalk shoots up with a beautiful white lily flower. The mystery or surprise is whether I will get just leaves, or some flowers, or none at all. It seems to have a mind of its own. But I don’t mind, I like to wait and see what surprise it has in store for me (and right now it has lots of leaves).
We have a few mysteries of our own to unravel at the May meeting. The Secret Scribe program will be reveled. This is the meeting where we find out who our mystery calligraphers are that have been sending us such wonderful cards and gifts each month. I have always enjoyed this program and I have had a wonderful secret scribe this year! For me opening a present from my secret scribe has been like getting a ray of sunshine in my day. I can’t wait to find out who they are and thank them!
