The Chinese Connection
It was supposed to be three years... that’s how it started. Member Joan Rocamora’s husband’s job took them on an assignment to China. It ended up to be a ten year assignment. Join us at our next meeting for a lively and beautiful presentation of all the great Chinese calligraphy and painting Joan learned from Chinese masters during her time living in China.
The Chinese have been doing calligraphy for centuries, but did you know that there are actually different styles? Joan will explain the background of history, culture, ink and paper decisions. There will also be a display table set up with some of her items for us to view. Please take
care not to get near her items with food or drinks, and PLEASE, do not handle her work.
See you there! Also, please help keep our supply of Stars and Stripe Honor Flight cards and cards for Kathy's House coming in.
